Turkish Festival Draws Over 33,000 Visitors

DOHA: The first Turkish Festival has attracted more than 33,000 visitors of various nationalities to Katara to explore the Anatolian civilisation and enjoy traditional music and dances performed by Turkish troupes.
The three-day festival which concluded on Saturday displayed Turkey’s traditional and handicraft industry, including carpets and glass manufacture, as well as delicious dishes.
Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager, Katara, said events and activities witnessed a record number of visitors. “Events in Building 3 attracted more than 33,000 visitors which is high and encourages us to work more to maintain this trust given by our audience.”
The festival has deepened strong ties between Qatar and Turkey, he said, adding Katara is ready to host another cultural festival to further Turkish and other countries’ cultures.
